    TORIES DITCH CHEAP HOMES

DAVID Cameron will bulldoze the dreams of tens of thousands IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Automatic Black Watch of people looking for an affordable home to buy or rent with a drastic planning shake-up.                                                                        He will sweep away rules which force developers to build a minimum number of homes per acre including a number of "low-cost" flats or houses. Labour's former planning supremo John Prescott introduced the guidelines in 2002 to stop developers building money- spinning "footballers' mansions" with giant gardens instead of less profitable, cheaper homes.                                But Tory local government minister Greg Clark will demolish the edict which says new housing estates should have at least 12 homes an acre.                                                                                            He will announce the move this week as part of a package which will also end rules which say up to 25 per cent of all homes on new estates must be affordable to would-be tenants or buyers.                       Replica Hublot Watches          The plan has outraged Labour MPs and housing charities who fear it will lead to housing "ghettos" with the rich and poor living in separate neighbourhoods.                                The move could also spark jitters in the fragile housing market amid fears the changes will hit the buyto-let market and deprive first-time buyers of any chance of finding a starter home.                                Developers are now reluctant to build on sites where they are forced to build cheaper or social housing because of the recession, according to Government sources.                                But critics believe the coalition Government is offering town halls more powers as a sweetener ahead of the huge cuts in their budgets which are being lined up by Communities Secretary Eric Pickles. Last night, MPs condemned the changes which they warned could stop tens of thousands of people from finding a home to rent or buy. Labour MP Tom Watson said: "I know Tory MPs like to have moats around their homes. But their policy will hit thousands of people desperate to find affordable homes. The message they seem to be sending out to less well-off, hard-working families is 'not in my backyard'."                          wholesale lingerie       And Labour MP Jon Cruddas said: "It is the poor and those most in need who desperately need social housing."                                Housing charity Shelter said 1.8million households in England are on waiting lists for affordable homes.                                COMMENT: Page 14
